Our Story

Hi, i’m Patti, the owner of Lakeside Stitches in Greenville, Maine.

As a kid, I visited maine often with my family and always had a desire to live here among the stillness and wildlife. When I married my husband Scott in 1982, we honeymooned here and he fell in love with this state, the same way i did. We Resided in Pennsylvania at the time, but soon bought our second house in Bangor, Maine.

in 2014, i retired from family medicine to enjoy the hobbies that i have loved so much for many years. Threads Needlework, in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, was my first store offering needlework patterns and supplies. As much as I enjoyed running my shop in PA, The pull of maine never left us. We traded our mid-coast camp for a house on Moosehead lake, and moved here permanently in October, 2021.

With the development of the Lakeside Property, I Knew there was potential for an outgrowth of Threads Needlework thus, Lakeside Stitches had to be born. I was given the keys to the beautiful space in February of 2022 and officially opened the store three months later.

Nestled on the southern end of Moosehead Lake, we feature fine yarn from Maine and all over the world. we carry over 40 different types of yarn, over 1,500 different shades of embroidery floss, as well as many kits, gifts, and accessories for knitting, crocheting, and embroidery.

  We feel incredibly lucky to have this shop over-looking the beauty of Moosehead lake and invite you to visit us to shop, learn, and create.
